Promoting health careers to rural students

چکیده

Dr Carol McKinstry coordinates the La Trobe Rural Health School (LRHS) Occupational Therapy Program, which is based at the Bendigo campus in Victoria. Carol completed her PhD in 2007 and has been at La Trobe University since 2005 teaching into the graduate entry masters OT program at the Melbourne campus before establishing the program at Bendigo. As part of setting up the La Trobe Rural Health School OT program, Carol also worked in a project role assisting in setting up the foundational multidisciplinary first year, the introduction of new health courses at the Bendigo campus and the establishment of infrastructure for the La Trobe Rural Health School. Prior to joining the University, Carol worked in the area of risk management and patient safety after being a clinician for over 15 years working in variety of rehabilitation settings in Bendigo.
